One of the most talked about laptops during the CES 2021 is the Asus ROG Flow X13. The hype around this laptop is understandable due to its amazing features and affordable price.

Asus ROG Flow X13 details

The Asus ROG Flow X13 is a 13-inch convertible gaming laptop. Inside is AMD's Ryzen 9 5980HS, which is a massive mobile processor with eight cores and 16 threads. This makes the laptop the most powerful one out of the 13-inch chassis, according to PCMag.

The power of the laptop is then paired with an entry-level Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 with Max-Q design, 1TB of storage, 32GB of memory and a 16:10 3840 x 2400 touch display.

Not only is the Asus ROG Flow X13 light enough to carry around, it feels like you are carrying nothing. The palm rests, the lid and the bottom deck of the laptop have a corduroy-type texture that is easy on the hands. It also has a sleek and futuristic look.

Just like the other Asus laptops, the ROG Flow X13 has an ErgoLift hinge that tilts the keyboard off the table a bit when the clamshell is open. The hinge is more rounded than the other fold-under laptops in the market, making it easy in your lap. The panel is compatible with the Asus Pen and it is scratch-resistant.

The audio of the laptop is great. It does not get as loud as an external speaker, but the percussion and the bass are excellent, especially for a laptop of 13-inch size.

In the Dolby Access app which is preloaded, you can switch between presets for gaming, movies and music. The Flow also supports two-way AI noise cancellation meant for video calls.

Asus ROG Flow X13 price bundle

On Asus Store, the ROG Flow X13 was listed in a $3,000 bundle with an XG Mobile eGPU. Those who wished to get the Flow X13 started making reservations for its incredibly low price.

However, Asus made a clarification about the bundle. On the latest episode of the ROG Pulse Podcast, Sascha Krohn, the marketing manager of Asus, indicated that the company does plan to sell the ROG Flow X13 laptop by itself in the future.

Krohn said that there was some misunderstanding about them selling it as a bundle, so the XG Mobile together with the X13. They do sell it as a bundle now, but they will also sell it separately in the near future.
Ryan Nesbit, an Asus marketing specialist, gave a rough starting price of $1,200.

The Verge's Monica Chin talked to Asus about this and Asus stated that the unit is for $1,499 if it will be sold alone, which is different from the price that Nesbit quoted.

If Asus does follow through with the estimated amount of $1,200 for the price, that would be a game-changer from the unit.

Reviewers of the laptop stated that the value proposition of the laptop as gaming laptop that was originally predicted to cost $3,000 was rather iffy considering that its internal GPU is entry-level compared to the chips of other gaming laptops.
