Hu Tao was initially believed to launch alongside Xiao in "Genshin Impact's" recent update 1.3, so many players were rather surprised to learn the Pyro user did not make it into the first two banners, but it seems like Hu Tao will be coming sooner than what people expect.

'Genshin Impact' Hu Tao Release Date

According to PCGamesN, a Reddit user has recently discovered Hu Tao's unlockable name card in the game, which means she will be included in the roster of playable "Genshin Impact" characters, but unfortunately, no one is entirely sure when the five-star pull will be added.

Nevertheless, it does not make it any less exciting for gamers to finally get her, especially as she can be a deadly DPS dealer.

Based on the game's lore, Hu Tao is the 77th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor who loves to cause trouble and is often said to have a very "punch-able" face.

Attacks and Skills

Hu Tao is a Pyro-based character and uses a polearm as her weapon.

She has an elemental skill that allows her to enter Paramita Papillo state, wherein all of her attacks will become Pyro attacks and will have an additional boost based on her maximum health. Plus, her Charge attacks in this state will apply the Blood Blossom effect to the enemies that have been hit and increase Hu Tao's resistance to interruption.

Enemies hit by the Blood Blossom effect will take Pyro damage every four seconds.

Her normal attack, called the Secret Spear of Washeng, allows her to perform six consecutive spear strikes, while her Charged move makes her plunge forward, dealing damages to enemies in her way, but this attack consumes a certain amount of stamina.

Lastly, her Plunging attack deals damages to any enemy along the way and deals AoE damage once she lands.

Meanwhile, Hu Tao's Elemental skill called Guide to Afterlife will command a blazing spirit that will attack enemies, causing Pyro damages in a large AoE, and once enemies are struck, Hu Tao will gain some of her max health.

Hu Tao Best Build

Although Hu Tao is yet to arrive in "Genshin Impact," here's the best possible build for her to increase her DPS damage.

To get the most out of her Pyro attacks, use any "Genshin Impact" Artifact that features Pyro damagehealth, and crit rate, such as the Crimson Witch of Flames set.

The set can increase Hu Tao's Burning and Overloaded damage by 40% as well as her Melt and Vaporize damage by 15%, then an additional perk when using her elemental burst that increases the two-piece set bonus from 15% to 50% for ten seconds.

"Genshin Impact" players are recommended to keep Hu Tao's health at 50% or below as this can increase her damage by 33%, but this can be extremely risky when dealing with powerful enemies.

When it comes to weapons, the Staff of Homa, a five-star Polearm with a high critical rate and attack bonus, is the best choice for Hu Tao, but Deathmatch could also be a good alternative.
