Xbox might soon have one of its most ambitious consoles yet, with an X-Shaped device called the "Xbox Mini" that would only play old "OG" games as pitched by Seamus Blackley to Phil Spencer, Microsoft Xbox's Head. The new console would solely be cloud-based only and would be playing only the best and top pick titles from the classic Xbox.

The United States-made console of the modern era would stay true to its branding, nay "lettering," as its creator, Seamus Blackley, aims to debut an X-shaped Box (get it?) console to feature only retro-style of gaming. The new Xbox Mini, as dubbed by the public, would only contain handpicked game that was top hits in the original gaming console.

The original Xbox console might not be near the looks of the latest pitch by Blackley, but it would surely capture the nostalgia and soul of the first generation gaming console that brought the competition to Sony and Nintendo. Initially, the X-shaped console was teased to the public to see their reactions and has been widely-accepted and hyped by its fans.

Xbox Mini: Seamus Blackley Designs X-Shaped Console

The early concept of the Xbox Mini, the popularized X-shaped console that would be under Microsoft (if approved) is showing the classic colors of the gaming division with the green and white (or silver) finish. According to Seamus Blackley on Twitter (@SeamusBlackley), he was only "asking for a friend" with the X-shaped console.

However, his tweet blew up and gained massive recognition from fans and enthusiasts, which ultimately pushed him to bring it up to the current head of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer. Blackley has not affiliated with Xbox anymore, but his designs are still accepted and heard by the company, with the X-shaped console already received. The creator has mentioned that it would be a hard design, but the new console would be possible to do, as it would be a cloud-based design, and was dubbed by the public as the "Xbox Mini." Moreover, it would only feature the OG games of Xbox, rounding up all classic favorites that put the console on the spot to where it is now.

Seamus Blackley Xbox: OG Games Only

According to Screen Rant, several classic titles of the first generation Xbox should be included, with the popular "Halo," and other 1st-gen games of the console. The list includes:

  • "Blood Wake"
  • "Brute Force"
  • "Crimson Skies"
  • "Halo"
  • "MechAssault"
  • "Otogi: Myth of Demons"
  • "Quantum Redshift"
  • "Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions"

Xbox Cloud Gaming with Seamus Blackley's Xbox Mini

Lastly, the oddly-shaped Xbox console would be featuring an all-cloud gaming experience, as it would no longer require a CD or BluRay disc insertion method to play the game. It seems that the console would not accept old discs of the first-generation Xbox, as all its games might have the possibility of a remaster, with a cloud-exclusive game streaming from Microsoft.

*Note: Everything above is only based on the concept of Seamus Blackley and reports. Microsoft has not yet confirmed that it would produce the Xbox Mini.
