Activision accidentally leaked the upcoming "Call of Duty: Outbreak," a new open-world zombies mode of the popular shooting game. According to Game Byte's latest report, Twitter account TheGamingRevolution is the first one that leaked the info. He posted a screenshot of the "Call of Duty" official website, showing the new game mode.

"BREAKING: The new Cold War Zombies Outbreak mode was just accidentally confirmed on Call of Duty's website! Trailer soon! #BlackOpsColdWar #coldwarzombies" said the leaker via his official Twitter account.

"Black Ops Cold War Zombies is set to take veterans and newcomers alike on a bold and terrifying journey that expands on an iconic part of the Call of Duty franchise," said Activision via its official website.

'Call of Duty: Outbreak' release date

Inverse stated that Activision didn't release the official launch date of the new open-worlds zombies mode. However, there are some rumors that the new mode might be included in the game's Season 2, which is expected to start on Feb. 25, together with a special Challenge Event that will run from Mar. 11. Some speculations also stated that the new mode might be a permanent addition to the popular "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

On the other hand, the new mode will be the next chapter of the Dark Aether story, which is currently the game's zombies mode. Just like the current zombies mode, "Call of Duty: Outbreak" is expected to be a co-op experience for around four players. But, the new zombies mode will offer the same experience that players are having in other open-world maps of the popular shooting game.

This means that fans can use vehicles to drive around. In the trailer, it was shown that players need to reach a specific analyzer to complete an experiment. On the other hand, another sequence revealed that they need to get a rover to breach a point. Right now, these are all the details that Activision accidentally leaked.

'Call of Duty: Outbreak' other details

Previously, Okami, a reliable leaker of the popular game, said that the new open-world zombies map is expected to be a Treyarch style, co-op zombies on a large-scale Fireteam map. On the other hand, some rumors stated that the new map will not a competitive type like "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" or "Call of Duty: Warzone" multiplayer modes.

However, these are all just speculations. It is still advisable to wait for the game developer's actual announcements so you will not get your hopes too high.
