Video game company Bandai Namco revealed that "Tekken 7" will introduce a new character, and she is the Prime Minister of Poland in the Tekken universe. The new DLC character is said to be "coming soon".
Tekken 7 new character
Bandai Namco teased a new "Tekken 7" character from Poland at the 2nd Annual Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable. Katsuhiro Harada stated that they got the inspiration since Poland had several women serve as prime ministers in its entire political history.
This is the reason why they wanted to add one to "Tekken 7" but she is not named nor based on a real prime minister. The new character is said to be released in early spring 2021, according to a Reddit thread.
Harada also stated that he is collaborating with the Poland embassy in Japan to give the character justice. He went to Poland last year, although all of the tournaments and meetings got cancelled due to the pandemic so he went on for some sightseeing.
Harada joke that he spent Bandai Namco's money and "didn't pay anything" out of his pocket. He also mentioned that he has several connections with embassies as well.
On stream, Harada said that more details and an actual reveal of the new Poland character will be coming soon. The very short teaser trailer for the new character from Poland has been posted on YouTube. All foreign Tekken characters speak their native language, so the new character will speak Polish.
Also, on stream just before the reveal of the trailer, Harada explained how a lot of Capcom developers or players want Tokido to end up doing a "Vega pose" on their pictures, according to VG247.
Overall, Harada kept joking about the new character and his journey in developing her during the stream. The stream had some issues though, as some trailers that were revealed had no sound at all.
At the end of the day, the developers were able to reveal their plans and projects, with Harada stating that he would like to make a sequel to "Pokken" one day.
The video game is available on PC, PS4 and on Xbox One.
