Microsoft's Predictive Text Feature Will Land Next Month

In a report by Tech Radar, the "Word for Windows: Text Predictions" was included in the Microsoft 365 roadmap. Its status says that it is in development at the moment, while its release is written as "March CY2021." Furthermore, the Products column wrote Word, Worldwide, Desktop, and General availability, which suggest that it could be made available to the following platforms.

In September 2020, the Redmond company hinted at the context-based word prediction during its beta test on MS Word, MS 365, and MS Outlook which were targeted at those who use the web in North America.

At the moment of writing, the multinational tech giant stated that they want to help the users to have a smooth writing process through a quick and accurate text-prediction feature.

Truly, the feature will help you save more time and effort in writing, so you will have a lot of time in editing your articles for blogs, dissertations, and other academic-related purposes.

For the tool, Microsoft Word can be your go-to toolbox in your journey. Expect that when the feature begins to launch, your typing will be much better than before. Simply, you can click the Tab to enable the text-prediction feature, and if you want to disable it, press Escape.

If you have a different writing style that you think will not suit the feature, do not worry. The feature will adjust according to what type of writing you are used to. Besides its time-saving advantage, also say no to grammatical mistakes and simple spelling errors.

According to a report by PCMag, the company wants you to easily get back on track in writing. The text-prediction feature relies on its machine learning model which generates several suggestions that are closely related to the text in your document. In addition, Microsoft said that you cannot save and see the content, however, if it will become a part of the feedback mechanism, it will be possible.

The Feature Could Come At Par With Google

The company has been consistent with its latest update releases on its software. Microsoft Word's soon-to-release feature can rival Google's Google Docs when it comes to functionality, but more details could be compared once it is officially available to the public.

More importantly, Microsoft should match the G Suite or the currently called Google Workspace if it is seeking competition when it comes to cloud computing, software tools, and other collaboration software. It will also be included in the next Office package of the company so that users can now avail of it through a single-time purchase instead of buying the subscription service of Microsoft 365.

The upcoming Office 2021 could produce several improvements compared to its 2019 version, but still, the company has no final announcement as to what will be the upgrades will be included in the package.

Meanwhile, Microsoft said that the new package will be good for five years, and its price will not be changed during this period.
