Apple has been spotted with the latest addition to the United States Patent and Trademark Office that now suggests that future devices would have an Anti-Fingerprint finish for the surfaces of its soon-releasing tech. This listing comes after the Titanium patent which has also been passed by Apple to the authorities to await trademarking and use for actual products.

While this news would not come soon or are speculated in the soon-coming technology from Apple, the utilization of patenting a device suggests that the company plans to develop on this venture in the coming years. Moreover, the devices which would likely have titanium and anti-fingerprint finishes are PCs and tablets including the Mac, MacBook, and iPad series.

Titanium is one of the strongest and lightest metals on Earth, and it is a significant component that is used on jet planes and even spacecraft, both of which are subject to extreme situations when performing their functions. For Apple to use Titanium means that it is planning something new for its Mac lineup, in terms of portability and withstanding heat during an extreme performance.

Apple Patent Spots Anti-Fingerprint Finish and Titanium Devices

According to Patently Apple, the Cupertino giant has something brewing in its research and development centers and laboratories, which could potentially upgrade the current lineup in the company. However, Titanium and Anti-Fingerprint coating would not only upgrade it, but it would take it to the next level and new heights.

Titanium Patent

The patent for Titanium is entitled "Titanium parts having a blasted surface texture" and it suggests that adding the element to casings or swapping the casings to the new metal would improve the surface's toughness. Moreover, scratches and other damages to the body would significantly be reduced when using the new metal for the finish.

The patent suggests that it could be used for almost all of Apple's smart devices including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and the MacBook Laptop PC. All of these are the major flagship devices of Apple, and this means that it would be a major rework on its body and components once this venture pushes through.

On the other hand, "Oxide coatings for metal surfaces" suggests that these new Titanium parts be paired with Anti-Fingerprint coatings on their surface because the new metal absorbs oil from fingertips and leaves stains. Moreover, the anti-fingerprint finish would complement the Titanium to protect it from scratch, giving it a sleek finish.

Apple Devices Like MacBook Already has an Almost Anti-Fingerprint Finish

The alloys in the MacBook already have an almost anti-fingerprint-like finish, and it would be significantly improved by Apple once the patents are trademarked and push through in production. However, the iPhone already has some titanium in it, and only reinforcing more would improve the product.
