Two months ago, Amazon updated the logo of its application for iPhone and Android users. The design was a major tweak compared to its previous designs since it features a somewhat toothbrush mustache, which is prominent in Adolf Hitler, so that rang a bell to the users.

Before it was believed to be inspired by an English comedian Charlie Chaplin who thrived throughout the early 1900s, but it is always the customers who spot something wrong in the adjustment, so the company fixed the issue.

Amazon fixed its controversial new app icon after people said that it looks like Hitler's mustache.

In a report by The Verge, the app icon has been receiving numerous and mixed feedback from the users since its launch last January. Regarding the change in the logo, a spokesperson from Amazon said that the company has been scouting on updates that could satisfy the customers' needs.

The spokesperson added that the design was meant to trigger excitement and joy to the customers every time they want to open the application on their smartphones. He analogized the adjustment when the people received boxes in front of their doors.

The new app icon has been pictured to be an arrow that is similar to a singing mouth, accentuated by the blue tape atop the mouth-like feature. However, other users found it quite uncomfortable to glance as it looks like the late Austrian-born German dictator Adolf Hitler

Meanwhile, the newly-updated logo could be the saving grace to save the issue, since the mustache-style design has been replaced by a folded piece of tape which could symbolize the excitement when opening an Amazon box.

The team behind the company's logo has also reached through the television, when they altered the mustache of one of the most iconic superheroes in history, Superman.

Henry Cavill was seen exhibiting his digital mustache in the scene. The addition of a mustache could be a great accessory for his next shoots. From there, the design could be used to recreate the movie scenes where the characters sported well-suit mustaches, which were not done before.

Besides Superman, the new logo of the app is also compared to Aang's mark on his head. "The Last Airbender" might be elated upon wearing it, but users found it amusing and close to the original series.

The Origin of Amazon Logo

According to Free Logo Design, Amazon started as a retail store, where the company only sells books in 1994 in Washington. The first logo was created by Turner Duckworth. It was described as the letter "A" which has a river on it.

From there, the logo became "Amazon.com," with the tagline "Earth's Biggest Bookstore" at the bottom.

The "O" in Amazon was changed to a yellow circle, then the next logo has turned into a revamped version of the former, with the addition of the smile design at the bottom minus the yellow "O."
