Virtual Reality has been around the world since the mid-2010s, in which its popularity is skyrocketing as VR devices are made available for players to enjoy right at the palm of their hands.

However, these devices would require users to insert their smartphones into the goggles and select a VR-ready video or game that could complement the experience.

However, only several companies looked into VR technology that integrates the device on the featured software, fully immersing the person in a new reality with the holograph experience and features. Microsoft has worked on this for the past years and has initially debuted the HoloLens 2 glasses that could bring up a heads-up display (HUD) and preview a virtual scene for users.

'Pokemon GO' on Microsoft Mesh

A video uploaded by Niantic, Inc. via Twitter (@NianticLabs) shows Niantic Labs executives and personnel using the Microsoft HoloLens 2 that is powered by the Microsoft Mesh platform as features of the hit AR game appears. Here, instead of a player holding a smartphone to interact around the city and see a Pokemon, he does it completely hands-free.

Potentially, the device could alleviate the need to hold the smartphone by a user, completing the entire "Pokemon Trainer" experience where users would need to do everything with bodily movements. The integration of "Pokemon GO" on Microsoft Mesh shows that users would need to manually interact with a wild creature and feed a Pokemon with Razz Berry.

The company's "Proof of concept" demonstration video is a collaboration with Microsoft to debut and make it known that the new technology could be used for countless AR or VR programs, including "Pokemon GO." The VR concept of Niantic Labs is "planet-scale," meaning that it integrated the game and Microsoft Mesh into the world.
