The CEO has spoken and it is a sad day for Tesla electric vehicle owners as they would not be connecting to the services of Starlink's satellite internet that could still provide connections to moving vehicles. It was an initial idea of Elon Musk and he said that it would be available anywhere in the world, at any time-but not for Tesla.

A Tesla Model 3, whose owner said he was curious to see the site, stands where the newly-announced Tesla Gigafactory is planned at Freienbrink on November 14, 2019 in Gruenheide, Germany. Elon Musk, CEO of U.S. electric automaker Tesla, announced two days ago that Tesla will build a European Gigafactory outside Berlin at Gruenheide, not far from the BER Willy Brandt Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport. The factory would be Tesla's fourth and is to produce car batteries, parts and the Model 3 and Model Y cars.

Starlink satellite internet has been years in the making since the original idea was conceived and specific launches were boarded to bring fleets of spacecraft that would serve as the source of the connection. In 2020, a full blast of SpaceX launches and joining other companies' missions were observed by Starlink to bring its internet-beaming satellite to orbit.

Musk, Starlink, and SpaceX have been working all year long to reconfigure the connections of its satellite as it aims to surpass a minimum speed of 100 Mbps, which the company is nearly achieving. This speed is only ten percent of its target internet speed output of 1 Gbps as a minimum, and soon improving to a faster connection in the future.

Starlink has been around for beta testing in the past months, and several internet users have been on mixed reviews with the satellite internet as it was still unstable to give the initial promise. However, Starlink aims to step up now and it has offered several packages to install its receivers and use its connections from orbit.

As much as it would aim to accommodate the rest of the world, particularly those in hard-to-reach areas, Starlink is restricting a community of potential users of the satellite internet for the present time. According to Elon Musk (@elonmusk), Tesla electric vehicles would not yet connect to Starlink's internet services due to several reasons.

The first of which is that Tesla EVs are massive and numerous in total, meaning that its network alone could take up the traffic of Starlink's connection and reduce bandwidth for all of its users. Additionally, Elon Musk's promise of incorporating the satellite internet anywhere in the world is intended for moving vehicles like aircraft, ships, trucks, and RVs only.

It seems that Tesla EVs would have to wait for a series of Starlink satellites to go to orbit and add more connection privileges or expand its network to accommodate the company's EVs. Elon Musk aims to connect the entire world on the satellite internet tech, it would not be impossible to soon open its doors to Tesla.

Starlink's internet services are now available for pre-orders via its official Starlink website, which now awaits evaluation and creating several accounts to set up the internet in various states. Starlink is not yet on a full blast as it still aims to test its internet connections for people, reconfiguring and adjusting as necessary.
