On Thursday, March 11, Adobe officially released Photoshop for Apple's M1 chip. The company says that ARM-compatible versions would deliver "significant performance gains" for Apple's custom silicon users.

Photoshop is a much-needed software for any multimedia content creator. It is a powerful tool that utilizes your imagination in photo editing, digital painting, animation, and even graphic design. It has a simple interface that beginners can easily learn about and has enough functions that professionals use in their craft.

Adobe had released the beta version for M1 Photoshop last November. Users have tested it and reported feedback on Photoshop's performance on the local computer.

Now, Adobe released a natively ingrained version of Photoshop that can run on the Apple system. They have provided links for upgraded Photoshop for Mac users on Desktop and iPad.

Adobe Photoshop Runs On M1 Version

Previously, Apple users would run the Intel version through Apple Rosetta technology. This strategy, however, does not utilize the chip's full working capacity.

Adobe claims that the newly released M1 version of Photoshop would provide a 50% performance boost than the integrated Intel version. The performance tests show an average of 1.5X speed when Adobe runs similar program activities, including opening and saving files, running filters, and computing heavy operations such as Content-Aware Fill and Select Subject.

There is something to be said for the program's compatibility running natively on Mac. A boost in performance is not the only thing this program offers.

Super Resolution is available in Adobe Camera Raw Plugin.

Both desktop and iPad could share this feature of turning a t0-megapixel photo into a 40-megapixel photo to produce high-quality results. This helps preserve images that may appear broken and blurry when enlarged. Super Resolution, available in the Adobe Camera Raw plugin, will automatically and intelligently enlarge photos while preserving important color details while maintaining the photo's clean edges.

Although not today, Super Resolution will soon be available in Lightroom and Lightroom Classic.

Photoshop on iPad has Amazing Features

Today, Adobe also releases two new features for the iPad Photoshop. It is the Cloud Documents Version History and ability to work in Cloud Documents Offline.

By utilizing the auto-save function of cloud documents, the Cloud Documents Version History gains the ability to revert documents up to 60 days back. Versions can also be bookmarked, renamed, and saved permanently. Users can recreate multiple versions of the same file easily!

Users can also select Cloud documents they want to store and edit locally while offline. Click on the three dots beside your file's name and select 'make it available offline.' Inversely to store up space, you can do the same process but select the 'make it online only' option.

Other Features Are Still Being Developed for the M1 Chip.

Unfortunately, the new programs still lack some of the more recent features, including the preset syncing and ability to invite others to edit cloud documents.

Adobe assures Mac users that the new Photoshop for Mac and iPad will perform with only the best results.
