The latest trailer for the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul is here, and it gives a great look at what Saul Goodman's life was like before he met Walter White. Check it out below.

Saul is a much different character here from the one we know and love in Breaking Bad. In fact, his name isn't even Saul. He instead goes by Jimmy McGill, and is a small-time lawyer struggling to get by. The trailer's tone is a mix of drama and humor much like that seen in Breaking Bad. That only seems natural, as Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, along with executive producer Peter Gould, created the spin-off series that takes place six years before the downward spiral of Walter White. The show will cover Jimmy McGill's transformation into the Saul we are all more familiar with.

Some fans have wondered if Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will reprise their iconic roles as Walter and Jesse Pinkman in the prequel series. Gould says not this season, according to Buzzfeed.

"We want this show to stand on its own," Gould says. "We don't want to mislead people in expecting something that's not going to happen. But having said that, everything else is on the table."

But that doesn't mean the two characters won't show up in later seasons, as Paul's Pinkman character in season one would still be in middle school. The show has already been greenlit for a 13 episode second season. Season one will consist of 10 episodes.

Better Call Saul premieres on AMC Feb. 9.
