'Monster Hunter Rise' is Now Out

As with previous "Monster Hunter" titles, "Monster Hunter Rise" centers around the Hunter who is tasked to slay or trap various monsters that can be found in the game, and with every successful mission, players are rewarded with loot that could make their gameplay easier and enables them to survive monster attacks.

There are various weapons, tools, and equipment available in "Monster Hunter Rise," with each having its own unique stats and function to help in the Hunter's missions.

However, it's definitely useful if you could unlock weapons skills in-game.

Apart from helping you in your journey as the Hunter, weapons skills can also make your gameplay a little more unique.

With that, here's how to unlock "Monster Hunter Rise's" weapons skills.

Finding Master Utsushi

According to Siliconera, the Hunter will not start with any weapons skills; instead, you will have to work to reach a specific Hub Rank to talk to Master Utsushi at the Gathering Hub Entrance, which you can easily locate and travel to via the Move Around the Village Option at the game's System Menu.

Master Utsushi should be reasonably easy to find since all you have to do is go behind the hub, locate him beside the Dango stall, and then approach him to strike a conversation.

The good thing is you should be able to unlock the weapons skills during the early game.

Once you talk to Master Utsushi, you should be able to unlock the first set of weapon skills, which you can then alternate between the new skills you've acquired from the NPC to the skills you have by default.

Then, you can unlock the third series of weapons skills after you reach a specific Hub Rank depending on your weapon of choice.

How to Unlock 'Monster Hunter Rise' Weapons Skills

According to Polygon, there are a total of 14 weapons available on "Monster Hunter Rise," including a bow, dual blades, a lance, a great sword, hammer, long sword, and a sword and shield, among others.

With that, here are the Hub Ranks for the three tiers of weapon skills you can unlock:

Hub Rank 4 - High Rank

  • Switch Axe
  • Sword and Shield
  • Light Bowgun
  • Hunting Horn

Hub Rank 5 - High Rank

  • Hammer
  • Heavy Bowgun
  • Great Sword
  • Charge Blade
  • Lance

Hub Rank 6 - High Rank

  • Gunlance
  • Long Sword
  • Insect Glaive
  • Dual Blades
  • Bow

To unlock the weapons skills for each of these, make sure you have the specific weapon on hand, and you have finished the side quest related to it, which means if you want to unlock weapons skills for the Sword and Shield, you must have it first and complete the quest assigned to it.

Make sure you pay extra attention to the details of the mission, since not all the time, you'll have to slay every "Monster Hunter Rise" opponent you meet.
