If you are using Samsung Cloud for storage of your files and photos, you might consider having a backup, as its services would stop soon. You can no longer make copies of your files after the dates set by the tech giant.

Furthermore, if you have important notes in your calendars or personal contacts, you need to act fast to relocate them to similar cloud storage since these files will no longer be retrievable after the deadline.

According to the official website of Samsung, the Cloud Service will no longer be used to store files in your Drive and Premium Storage. If this happens, your data could be removed.

There are two groups for the said deadline, Group 1 and Group 2. Apart from that, there are also three stages of the process before the deletion of the data happens. To know of the important timelines before the Samsung Cloud Drive removal, here they are:

Group 1 consists of the United Staes, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Europe. Meanwhile Asia, Africa, and the Middle East complete Group 2.

For the first group, you can now "migrate" all your data to Microsoft One Drive until March 31. The second group can do the same task, but it is given a longer due date until May 31.

However, this is only for Stage 1.

For Stage 2, those who belong to Group 1 can now download their data to their devices or even computers until June 30. In the case of Group 2, they will be given until August 31 to do so.

For the post-process, all data that belong to Group 1 will be deleted starting July 1, while those from Group 2 will have their data removed starting September 1. Those data will not be recovered anymore.

Furthermore, those who have a special subscription to Premium Storage could expect that their plan will be canceled on April 1 for Group and June 1 for Group 2. As part of this process, those subscribers will receive a refund.

What To Know About Microsoft One Drive Storage Capacity

According to a report by Tech Radar, those who intend to migrate to Microsoft OneDrive from Samsung Cloud will receive free storage of 15 GB, which is equal to the capacity when you have a free account on Samsung.

This is much better compared to the usual storage of the Microsoft OneDrive account, which only has 5GB of free storage. However, take note that the storage in your OneDrive will not last forever. After a year of usage, it will eventually expire.

To address this issue, there are two options that you can do.

First, you could increase the storage capacity of Microsoft OneDrive, or you can consider saving your files through another backup software, portable micro-SD card, or even your external hard drive.

Remember that it is always essential to have a secondary system for the safety of your files. In the case of unexpected changes like this, you can avoid cramming to look for convenient storage to replace Samsung Cloud, which will fade away soon.
