Apple has debuted the arrival of 'Mini' smartphones with the iPhone 12 lineup, and it was speculated that an iPhone 13 Mini would also come for this year, probably in mid-October. However, the speculation by Apple insider and analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, has revealed that it would be the last Mini variant for the iPhones, as the next year's lineup would drop its production.

The discontinuation of the recently added smartphone variant from Apple, the "Mini" devices, were short-lived, particularly as its run would only span for two years of production, should the speculation come true. There are only several reasons as to why the company would drop the production of a certain model of the device, but it was not revealed by the popular analyst.

According to Mac Rumors, they have received research from the reputable Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, which has identified the different iPhone devices which would release in the coming year. For the 2022 lineup, it would be the next-in-line flagship model and would be under the iPhone 14 number, proceeding after this year's iPhone 13.

However, the largest change from this year to next year is that Apple would release an iPhone 13 Mini, while the iPhone 14 would not. Kuo said that instead of the iPhone 14 Mini, it would be replaced by the iPhone 14 SE, which would also be the third generation iPhone SE from the company. The replacement of the iPhone 14 SE would still release four variants to choose from.

There were no exact reasons that were mentioned by Kuo regarding the removal of the iPhone 14 Mini and retaining a 3rd-gen iPhone SE 2022, which was unlike the release of 2020 that had five phones in total. It is also unknown if the iPhone 12 Mini has faced a market decline, as Apple did not release any reports on its smartphone sales.

Apple iPhone 13 Camera Leak: Larger Device and Camera

According to a render obtained by tech blogger 91 Mobiles, a three-dimensional render of the iPhone 13 has leaked and it debuts a "thicker" body which would also have a larger rear camera setup. The render shows a three-lens layout for the camera which suggested that it was for the iPhone 13 Pro model, having slight changes from the iPhone 12 Pro.

The render showed that both devices would feature almost the same height as the iPhone Pro model at 6.1 inches for its screen, but the main difference would be the smaller notch found on the front camera and Face ID. Initial leaks of the iPhone 13 camera show a diagonal setup for its two-lens camera setup, suggesting a refreshed design for the flagship smartphone.

Additionally, the public is still waiting on the April 20 Apple Event "Spring Loaded," which could give clarity to the different speculations for the iPhones.
