The recent innovation from Bye is their eFlyer 800 that aims to debut the world's private jet that can carry up to eight passengers, with its engines relying on solar power and clean energy. The aircraft has a top speed of 320 knots, which is enough to propel itself off the ground and maintain a course as it traverses the skies with its unconventional make.

Bye Aerospace has debuted their eFlyer 800, which is an all-electric aircraft that can carry up to eight passengers and operate at minimal costs compared to traditional turboprop-class jets in the current market. The jet would mostly offer private sessions due to its limited flight times and capabilities.

The world has been debuted with the popularity of Tesla electric vehicles that have sparked a global change and movement towards electric mobility with brands such as Volkswagen, GM, Ford, Mercedez, and more. Additionally, several pledges have been made to go fully electric in the next decade, foregoing the use of internal combustion engines (ICE).

Amidst the popularity of EVs, the world has also been interested in the arrival of electric commercial planes but has been something that Microsoft's Bill Gates said to be nearly impossible due to weight. That being said, there are still companies that have focused on debuting the "electrification" for other vehicles such as the airplane.

Electric Powered Jet by Bye eFlyer 800

According to Bye Aerospace, the company has unveiled their eFlyer 800 which is a turboprop-class aircraft that has the capabilities of flying on short courses and bringing people on a private jet from one place to another. The catch, for now, is that the eFlyer 800 cannot go the distance yet, and can only serve 1 to 2-hour flights or short hauls.

Why is this? It is because of its battery range that is still limited to a small capacity despite its installed solar power charging capabilities that it boasts of. However, the company also highlights its cheaper operating costs, also its upgraded utility and capacity. The eFlyer 800 can carry up to eight individuals and passengers on a single trip when chartered.

The fully electric private jet has a top speed of 320 knots and 500nm of range, which is an adequate power needed to fully support the aircraft. The plane only needs 280 knots to cruise mid-air and can go up to 35,000 feet as its maximum ceiling. The jet also has an airplane parachute and auto-landing system for emergency maneuvers.

Solar Power with a Catch

While the twin-turboprop-class aircraft from Bye Aerospace is impressive, it also debuts a solar power charging capability while in taxi or flying mid-air, and this is an ideal one for its small battery capabilities. However, the catch is that its solar charging can only give it little juice, and would not be sufficient for an increased range or run.
