Apple just announced its new North Carolina campus which will house a whopping 3,000 employees and expand its operations in a number of other US states and also increase its spending targets along with US suppliers. Apple plans to spend $1 billion on the new campus and engineering hub located in the REsearch Triangle area of North Carolina.

According to the story by VentureBeat, the new campus will be focusing on a few specific jobs which could heavily benefit Apple in the years to come. It now joins a whopping $1 billion Austin, Texas campus that was announced in 2019.

North Carolina's official Economic Investment Committee on Monday had just approved a job-development grant which could provide Apple as high as $845.8 million in tax reimbursements over the course of 39 years if Apple is able to hit its job and growth targets. State officials are expecting 3,000 jobs which would reportedly create $1.97 billion in just tax revenues to the state over the whole grant period.

The iPhone maker also announced that it will be establishing a $100 million fund in order to support schools located in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina as well as throughout the state. Apple also said it will contribute a whopping $110 million in order to assist in building infrastructures like broadband internet, bridges, roads, and even public schools in a whopping 80 North Carolina counties.

Apple's COO or chief operating officer Jeff Williams noted that as a North-Carolina native, he is thrilled that Apple is now expanding and even creating certain new long-term job opportunities in the community that he reportedly grew up in. He also noted that they are proud of the new investment and that it will also be supporting the overall education and critical infrastructure projects spread throughout the state.

Apple Job Hiring

Apple also announced that it will be expanding hiring targets in some other US locations in order to hit the goal of an additional 20,000 jobs by the year 2026. Apple is setting new goals for facilities in Massachusetts, Colorado, and Washington state.

Apple's original home state is in California and the company notes that it wants to hire a whopping 5,000 people over in San Diego, according to CNBC, and another 3,000 people over in Culver City within the Los Angeles area. Apple had also reportedly increased a total US spending target up to $430 billion by the year 2026. 

This was up from a five-year goal of just $350 billion that Apple had previously set up back in 2018 but was said to be on track to exceed. The target would also include Apple's US data centers, the capital expenditures and the spending in order to create some original television content in 20 different states.
