For those that have followed the Falcon 9 throughout its journey, the constant mislandings and explosions are now finally worth it. When trying out rockets, trial and failure in order to find the best possible launch and landing method are oftentimes inevitable.

SpaceX Falcon 9 Lands on 'Just Read the Instructions'

According to the official SpaceX Twitter page, the Falcon 9's first stage has finally landed on the particular "Just Read the Instructions" droneship. This concludes the booster's seventh launch and landing successfully.

"Just Read the Instructions" or JRTI is actually an autonomous spaceport drone otherwise known as ASDS. The JRTI is technically a modified barge that is specifically outfitted with a huge landing platform, certain station-keeping thrusters, and even some other equipment in order to allow SpaceX to simply land boosters at the sea on certain high-velocity missions that actually don't carry enough fuel in order to allow it for a return-to-launch-site type of landing.

What are the SpaceX Droneship Names?

According to the official SpaceXFleet page, Just Read the Instructions was actually originally based back in California in order to support certain missions that would be launching from the official Vanderburg Air Force Base. The particular droneship was actually moved to Florida back in late 2019 in order to support the generally increasing number of missions which would include launching from Cape Canaveral.

JRTI or Just Read the Instructions is now the second ever SpaceX droneship in order to use the name. It was also noted that the original SpaceX droneship had operated for two experimental landings stretched through the Atlantic Ocean back in the early 2015. It also used the exact same name but was then retired and then replaced by the Of Course I Still Love You named droneship back in June of 2015.

SpaceX Falcon 9 and Starlink

The JRTI or Just Read the Instructions name was then given to the brand-new droneship operating directly from California. JRTI was originally built in a specific Louisiana shipyard which was made alongside the other SpaceX droneship known as the "Of Course I Still Love You."

In order to reach its brand new home in California, the ship reportedly had to pass directly through the Panama Canal. The droneship was reportedly too wide to fit through the whole canal locks so the other extra wing extensions, which are designed in order to provide a much larger landing pad, later on had to be placed on deck in order for it to be installed upon its arrival in California.

The SpaceX Falcon 9 landing on the Just Read the Instructions is another achievement for SpaceX constantly experimenting with their rockets and finding better ways to optimize them for more affordable and effective space flight. Aside from rockets, the SpaceX Starlink has also been getting closer to their goal of providing international satellite internet connection through the use of low-orbit satellites.
