An Industry Veteran to Lead BGFG

Woods' experience covers editorial and commercial expertise across a wide range of content brands and platforms. He has successfully launched, edited, and took the helm in rebranding various consumer and specialist publications and websites - PCZone, The Big Issue, PokerPlayer, and more.

However, the majority of his successful career was spent with British independent publisher Dennis Publishing, where he rose as the editorial director of its contract division, Dennis Communications. He then transitioned to digital publishing with Breaking Media, where he also helmed as the editorial director. During his stay, he managed to successfully grow its flagship site to having more than 70 million page views for the calendar year 2020 - 2021 and launched five new football websites, with one of them raking in more than 3 million views per month.

"I'm thrilled and honoured to be given the chance to build and evolve an already massively talented editorial team," Woods said on his new appointment. "Helping to take BGFG to the next level is something I'm very excited about. BGFG is authentic, with a super-strong team and a clear vision, and I'm pleased to have the opportunity to help grow such a brilliant business."

"Growth and success come from within," the new editorial director continued. He explains his belief in "true leaders" and that they should work for their employees, helping them reach their potential. "I want to work in a space where goals are aligned, and everyone is passionate about what they do. This is at the heart of everything that BGFG does."

Furthermore, Dave Woods explains the importance of company culture and how he shares what By Gamers For Gamers have. He also noted in the company press release how he liked "authenticity and governance," or how the Manchester-based tech publisher knows what its readers want.
