Google Calendar update is here.

The tool helps you manage your personal meetings and appointments, but by default, it also keeps track of the holidays in your region. In addition to the public holidays, Google also shares other occasions, so you do not have to search for events like "Mother's Day 2021" every few days until you can finally memorize the date.

With the update, a new toggle for holidays is finally coming to Google Calendar, so you can start decluttering your view without having to disable the feature altogether.

The Holiday Feature Google Calendar Update

Starting on May 20, users can switch their holidays setting from "Public holidays and other holidays" to "Public holidays only." It might seem like a small change, but if you are reliant on knowing when certain businesses might be closed to the public, it is a great addition.

You will still be able to see all of the major occasions in your area, but unofficial dates like Valentine's Day and Halloween are hidden from view, Android Police reported.

Under the Holiday calendar content, you can toggle between events. You can also change these options on Android by heading to your Calendar settings and selecting your region's holiday calendar.

The feature is now available in Google Calendar on the web and Android, with a planned update for iOS users starting May 25.

Aside from setting holidays, you can also use Google Maps while in Google Calendar, according to Groovy Post.

When you start adding a location to your Google Calendar event, you will see a Preview in the Maps icon. You can do this on the main Google Calendar screen with the event pop-up or the full event details screen.

First, you can create your event as you normally would. Then, you can stat adding the location, and you will see the icon on the right of the location box. You only need to enter one character for the icon to display, as per Business Insider.

Next, click the Preview in Maps icon, and the Quick Access Panel that will open right up.

If you continue to complete the address for your location or choose one of the suggestions, you may have to click the icon again to show that exact spot in the Google Maps sidebar.

You can also schedule a Microsoft Teams meeting in Google Calendar.

With more than 115 million daily active users, Microsoft Teams is proving to be quite the solution for video conferencing. At the same time, Google's own mail and calendar solutions are popular as well, with more than 2 billion monthly active users.

First, install the Teams meeting add-on for Google Workspace. Next, click the Teams icon in the sidebar in Google Calendar and sign in with your work Microsoft Account.
