"Charlie Bit My Finger" one of the most viral YouTube videos that ever made its way throughout the internet initially gaining over 880 million views, was finally sold as an NFT following after "Disaster Girl" and other memes started selling online for a massive amount of money. NFT or non-fungible tokens are commonly known for being about art but what people don't know is that it can also contain videos as well.

"Charlie Bit My Finger" NFT

The NFT reportedly sold for an approximate of $760,999 on Sunday; quite a lot for the classic video of two kids together. The famous 56-second video features the baby Charlie Davies-Carr biting the finger of his older brother Harry and it initially hit the internet back in 2007.

According to the story by HypeBeast, Howard Davies-Carr, the father of both of the boys, decided to post the video on YouTube in order to share it with friends and family but nobody really anticipated the global success that the video would bring. The "Charlie Bit My Finger" NFT sold to a certain user named 3fmusic on the popular NFT platform called Origin Protocol.

Who Bought the "Charlie Bit My Finger" NFT

Some time later that day, a certain Twitter account using the same name whose bio describes the account as one of the best as well as well equipped music studios in the Middle East released a tweet saying "CHARLIE BIT ME!" Although there is no confirmation as to whether the studio is associated with the same user that won the NFT auction, it does connect some dots.

The NFT buyer, according to the family's site for the given auction, will become the sole owner of quite a lovable piece etched into internet history. On top of owning the clip, the winner now also has the opportunity to simply create their very own parody of the video along with the original stars Charlie and Harry.

Video to be Deleted Forever

The Origin co-founder Josh Fraser reportedly told HypeBeast that the removal of the video from YouTube will then add to the rarity of the lovable NFT meme. He then noted that although videos are deleted every day from YouTube, nobody really had the audacity to delete a video that already had close to a billion views.

He also noted that the family all agreed that this would still be a novel way for them to show how serious they are regarding the sale and also give the NFT more value for one lucky bidder who ends up winning the historic auction. Howard also told CBS that the massive NFT sale now means that Harry goes to university and also has a pretty nice place to stay and does not have to work a bar job.

With the "Charlie Bit My Finger" NFT already sold, fans of one of the earliest bringers of joy on the internet will have to say goodbye to the viral video.
