Razer 'Fast Charger' Comes Out at $180 for a 130W GaN Charger | Can it Compete with the Xiaomi HyperCharge 200W?

Razer "fast charger" is coming out to help people really charge their devices at the speed of light! While the Xiaomi HyperCharge runs at 200W, this particular charger by Razer is a 130W GaN charger. Although Xiaomi HyperCharge functions on higher watts, is it really better than Razer?

Depending on who's asked, according to Engadget, gallium nitrate or GaN electronics could potentially change the world! The use of gallium nitrate is already evident in some of the smaller but also more efficient power adapters.

At the E3 2021 press briefing, Razer officially announced the presence of its brand new 130W GaN charger. The specs were also announced and what's really been promoted is the compatibility as well as how portable the charger is which makes it a really easy-to-use smartphone essential.

Razer 130W Fast Charger Release Date

The device is expected to launch sometime within the next 30 days. Although this might seem like a long time, it isn't really that long given the device was just announced. The hype building around the fast charger, however, is still quite questionable as the price remains pretty steep.

The Razer 130 Fast Charger is expected to sell at a whopping $180 which is actually pretty steep. Despite the charger using GaN technology, even with the standards of GaN chargers alone, it is still a pretty tall price to pay for a power adapter.

The article by Engadget notes that the price is steep since it can actually be compared to other similar products on Amazon that sell for just about $60. An example of substitute chargers is the RAVPower 65W 4-port charger that is also a USB charger with some pretty similar specs as the Razer 130W fast charger. You can check the comparison on Amazon.

Razer 130 Fast Charger vs. Xiaomi HyperCharge

Although Razer 130 Fast Charger doesn't promise the same as the Xiaomi HyperCharge 200W, it does have one advantage, the number of ports. The Xiaomi HyperCharger 200W boasts being able to charge a device in just 8 minutes. The Razer 130 fast charger, however, can charge multiple devices at the same time, according to GSMarena.

In the end, it really all boils down to how the user might need to use the charger. For users that might need to charge multiple devices at once, the Razer 130 fast charge could be a better choice since it can charge up to four devices all at once while the Xiaomi HyperCharge 200W can only charge one.
