Omnichannel retailer Bed Bath & Beyond, the leading provider of home fixtures, will soon deliver to more locations with its Same Day Delivery thanks to a strategic partnership with crowdsourced delivery platform Roadie.
The latest move is a significant step in the company's transformation to being a digital-first, omni-always retailer. With the new Roadie partnership, Bed Bath & Beyond, as well as buybuy BABY customers can soon pick up their Buy Online Pickup Curbside purchases at any participating branch - even before the store has opened for the day! This is perfect for orders placed last night and intended for pickup during the morning commute to work, with customers taking the digital service to have their orders curbside by as early as 8 AM, or one hour ahead of the usual store hours.
Other Buy Online Pickup in Store and all other Curbside orders, according to Bed Bath & Beyond, will be ready in an hour after the order was placed, stepping up from their previous two-hour "ready for pickup" window.

More Coverage for Same Day Delivery
The retailer also announced the same day that it has greatly increased its coverage of zip codes - to about double of its previous coverage - thanks to a newly inked US partnership with Roadie, the rapidly growing delivery platform backed by crowdfunding. The delivery service now has a fleet of more than 200,000 verified drivers across the country. And as Roadie lends its support to Bed Bath & Beyond, the retailer can now deliver to almost 16,000 zip codes across the country - catering Same Day Delivery orders from Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY.
"There's not always time to get to the store when you need to, and Roadie makes it easy for Bed Bath & Beyond to bring the store to you," said Marc Gorlin, Roadie CEO and Founder, in the BB&B press release. He adds that through the new Bed Bath & Beyond and Roadie partnership, customers can get what they need right away, in more places than ever, whether it's for their baby's needs or a new appliance to use at home.
With Roadie lending its logistical resources to the Same Day Delivery platform, Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY customers will now enjoy the stronger digital service, especially those living near their store branches. Customers also regularly receive updates via text on their orders, letting them know in real time where their orders are or when they will arrive at their doorstep.
Roadie is the latest partner to join Bed Bath & Beyond's Same Day Delivery, which includes DoorDash and Shipt.
Growing as a Retailer in the Digital World
Based on its Q1 2021 report, Bed Bath & Beyond saw a growing percentage of its net sales coming from its digital outlets - making up for 38 percent in the previous quarter. Additionally, the retail giant saw more than half a million downloads of its Bed Bath & Beyond mobile app for the last quarter alone, bringing its total app downloads to more than three million copies of the app over the last year.
Furthermore, about 31 percent of its digital sales for Q1 2021 came from store initiatives like Same Day Delivery, Buy Online Pickup In-Store or Curbside, or orders that are shipped directly from stores to customers.
