Sony accidentally released its lineup of video games for PS Plus in August on its website. PS Plus games are typically announced on the last Wednesday of each month, but it seems someone at Sony was too eager to share the news.

The website was updated prematurely and listed the free PS Plus games for August 2021. Even though Sony already took the post down as of July 25, many fans were able to capture screenshots of the lineup.

Sony PS Plus August 2021 Lineup

The PS Plus August 2021 games were supposed to be revealed on July 28. Unless Sony changes between now and the original release date, fans can expect to get three new games.

The games that are expected to be available in August are "Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville," "Tennis World Tour 2," and the newly released "Hunter's Arena: Legends."

Out of the three games that will be available on PS Plus next month, "Hunter's Arena: Legends" was the least surprising because it was already announced by Sony weeks ago, according to VG 24/7.

During the PlayStation State of Play event, Sony revealed the official release date for the game and confirmed that it would be included as a free PS Plus game on PS4 and PS5 consoles.

PS Plus subscribers can claim the games for their collection starting Aug. 3. Before that date, subscribers can still claim the free PS Plus games for July 2021, according to ScreenRant.

The games for July 2021 include "A Plague Tale: Innocence" on PS5, while "Call of Duty: Black Ops 4" and "WWE 2K Battlegrounds" can be played on PS4.

Subscribers can also claim an additional free game before Aug. 3. The "Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown Edition" was included in the free PS Plus games for June 2021, but it is still available as Sony decided to give it away for two months, according to Slash Gear.

PS Plus Subscription

The PS Plus Subscription is available on PS4 and PS5 consoles. It grants its subscribers access to a couple of free games every month.

Subscribers of PS Plus can enjoy games such as "Rise of the Tomb Raider," "NBA 2K20," "Erica," "God of War," "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," and "Persona 5."

These games are available for subscribers every month and can be played with an active PS Plus membership.

The subscription also comes with an online multiplayer option so you can team up with friends and family and play the game as a group.

Game Help is also available to give tips, tricks, and hints to players. It is a feature that is not available for non-subscribers.

Players can also use Share Play to share the TV screen with another player, making it easier to watch the game or take over.

PS Plus subscribers can store up to 100GB of games. The PS4 consoles will automatically upload the data that you saved to the cloud so it can be access to another PS4 console.

Interested players can sign up for PS Plus membership through the PlayStation Store.

The monthly subscription is $9.99 a month, a three-month subscription is $24.99, while a 12-month subscription is $59.99.
