BARCELONA, SPAIN - FEBRUARY 26: A logo sits illumintated outside the ZTE booth on day 2 of the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2019 on February 26, 2019 in Barcelona, Spain. The annual Mobile World Congress hosts some of the world's largest communications companies, with many unveiling their latest phones and wearables gadgets like foldable screens and the introduction of the 5G wireless networks.

ZTE Axon 30 5G

The ZTE Axon 30 5G officially launched last July 28, boasting its improved under-display selfie camera--which is still the only smartphone to feature one--alongside its Snapdragon 870.

The Axon smartphone series has been heralded for its introduction of a seamless fullscreen display experience. It is due to the absence of the punch hole or notch provisions that other counterparts use for their cameras and sensors.

It is worth noting that the Chinese giant initially introduced the under-display selfie shooter last December 21, 2020, via the ZTE Axon 20.

However, some users and critics complained that the camera does not take impressive photos. Thus, the phone maker boasted the improvements for its successor.

ZTE Axon 30 5G's 20GM RAM Support

During the launch, ZTE mentioned that its latest flagship is introducing a way to increase the RAM capacity by up to 5GB, using the storage space of the device via the next-generation fusion tech.

Nevertheless, the Chinese phone maker issued a new update involving the expansion of the RAM support of the Axon 30 5G, saying that it could now go up to 20GB.

It is made possible by the aforementioned fusion tech, which uses the idle ROM of the Android smartphone.

As per PhoneArena, ZTE announced that the additional memory could reach up to 8GB, making the 12GB LPDDR5 memory of the flagship handset go up to a total of 20GB.

GizChina further noted that fusion tech in other smartphone brands could only possibly go up to 5GB, but the ZTE device impressively squeezed in another 3GB.

Thus, the tech that utilizes the additional idle storage of the Axon 30 marked another milestone for the phone maker, as it became the first Android phone to achieve such RAM support.
