WhatsApp users can now utilize the app on Mac without the requirement of connecting it to a smartphone. Since the launch of the multi-device support on the platform, linking the application is possible for up to four devices.

Before, there are some conditions to consider in authenticating a WhatsApp account on the mobile app. Anywhere you want, this is applicable on PC, and even on QC code via desktop or web.

Originally, the linked device where the WhatsApp link was created will no longer be required once the connection takes place. Nevertheless, the initial link should be saved by the user.

Here's a quick guide on how to connect WhatsApp on Mac using the multi-device support feature that is currently in the beta stage.

According to Macrumors, there are only a few steps to follow to connect the Meta-owned app to your Mac device without the linked iPhone.

Here's what you need to do to try the feature on its beta stage.

1. First, open WhatsApp on your Apple smartphone.

2. Go to the Settings and tap Linked Devices

3. Search for Multi-Device Beta and click it.

4. Look for the Join Beta button and tap the blue icon.

5. Press Back and go to the previous screen to look for the Link a Device.

6. Using your Mac, go to the web.whatsapp.com or the shortcut app through your preferred browser. Make sure to scan the QR code that will come out on your device.

Once you are finished doing the right steps for such a purpose, you can now see that your device will be immediately connected. In short, your Mac can start receiving chats and accessing various threads without requiring a direct link on your phone.

Be mindful that removing a message will not happen on a linked device. In addition, you need to have the latest version of the app on any platform such as desktop and web.

Furthermore, the end-to-end encryption will remain as-is for messages and even calls. There's another reminder to bear in mind regarding this. If ever your phone inactivity exceeds 14 days, your linked devices will be automatically disconnected.

Just a heads up for the users. Since this is still in beta, it's just normal to experience bugs, glitches, and other performance issues. At the moment, all we can do is wait for the official release of the feature in the future.
