Android Auto has yet to be officially supported by Tesla's own infotainment system in its EVs. However, there is now an easy way to run Google's car app for the electric vehicles of Elon Musk's tech giant.

Musk said the state-of-the-art, five-seat sedan will be the world's first mass-produced, highway-capable electric car. The car has an anticipated base price of 57,400 US dollars but will cost less than 50,000 after a federal tax credit of 7,500 dollars.

Android Auto and Tesla

Although Tesla's in-vehicle infotainment system is also impressive on its own with tons of features and available apps to choose from, Android phone users are still most familiar with, of course, the Android Auto.

Besides, Android Auto seamlessly extends Android smartphones into software that is extremely optimized for users behind the wheel.

However, as mentioned, Tesla has yet to carry out any Android Auto support. Not to mention that the EV tech giant also does not include Apple CarPlay support on its massive touch screen.

According to the news story by CleanTechnica, the automaker research and inventory platform, Edmunds, mentioned that one of the cons of Tesla vehicles is its absence of any support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

But still, Edmunds awarded the Tesla Model 3 Sedan as its Top Rated EV for 2021. It comes even as numerous automakers, new and old, have already showcased their electric offering this year.

How to Use Android Auto on Tesla EVs

Without any further ado, here's how to experience Android Auto on Tesla's IVI system even if the automaker has yet to issue any official support.

As per the report by XDA Developers, Android users could now seamlessly connect their smartphones to their Tesla EVs by using a third-party app that runs on Tesla's built-in browser.

The app that allows Android Auto support on the infotainment system of Tesla goes by the name TeslAA.

The third-party app, according to XDA Developers, is made possible by one of its Recognized Devs, Emil Borconi.

It is to note that Borconi first unveiled the third-party app to the tech forum platform way back in June. After which, TeslAA has gone through its beta phase to test its stability and fix any annoying software bugs.

This time around, the app that brings the Android Auto experience to Tesla vehicles is now available for public consumption.
