With Tesla reaching new records in terms of deliverables in 2021, a multiplication effect has been seen in previous years as the company's numbers have shown that they grew from zero in 2011 to 936,172 vehicle deliverables in 2021. It took 11 years for Tesla to reach this number.

An account by Jon Erlichman tweeted out the number of Tesla vehicle deliverables throughout the course of the last 11 years. As seen below, the number of the deliverables grew by its first 2,650 in 2012 to its recent 936,172 vehicle deliveries by last year.

Here are the Number of Tesla Vehicle Deliveries Each Year:

  • In 2021, Tesla was able to deliver 936,172 vehicles

  • In 2020, Tesla was able to deliver 499,550 vehicles

  • In 2019, Tesla was able to deliver 367,550 vehicles

  • In 2018, Tesla was able to deliver 245,240 vehicles

  • In 2017, Tesla was able to deliver 103,097 vehicles

  • In 2016, Tesla was able to deliver 76,295 vehicles

  • In 2015, Tesla was able to deliver 50,580 vehicles

  • In 2014, Tesla was able to deliver 31,655 vehicles

  • In 2013, Tesla was able to deliver 22,477 vehicles

  • In 2012, Tesla was able to deliver 2,650 vehicles

  • In 2011, Tesla was able to deliver 0 vehicles

According to CNBC, Tesla was able to deliver 184,800 vehicles during Q1 of 2021 thanks to the Model S and Model X production dropping to zero. In addition, analysts were actually only initially expecting the Elon Musk-owned company to deliver just around 168,000 vehicles during this particular period. 

Tesla Model 3 and Model Y Crossover

Per the publication, all of the EVs that the company was able to produce were Model 3 sedans and Model Y crossover SUVs during the aforementioned quarter. Data also shows that Tesla did not produce any of its more expensive Model X SUVs and Model S sedans.

The company was able to deliver 2,020 Model S vehicles as well as Model X vehicles from inventory during the said period. This, however, actually represents only 1% of its total deliveries. Tesla noted in a statement that newer equipment have been installed and tested in the first quarter of 2021.

Tesla's Model S to Cybertruck

The company has also noted that they are now in the early stages of ramping production for its updated versions of both the Model S as well as the Model X.

During an earnings call that took place on January 27, 2021, Elon Musk noted that Tesla has been able to bring forward both the Plaid Model S and the Model X models with the Model S delivered in February of the same year while the Model X was delivered later on.

Now, at the start of 2022, Tesla has come a long way from focusing on its Model S and Model X to its more recent Cybertruck, which is expected to come out some time soon.
