Tesla has long been gaining popularity, both positive and negative, from the public, but with its recent $150,000 unit, some TikTok users don't seem to be excited about the unit. With that, comments about the unit state that it "makes no sense."

Viral $150K Tesla on TikTok Gains Mixed Reactions

A certain user on TikTok, jf.okay, posted a video of the $150,000 Tesla model, and most of the comments noted that the price doesn't make sense. To add, users have been arguing that spending that much on the unit wasn't worth it.

According to the story by SlashGear, although the exact model wasn't mentioned on the TikTok video, the publication states that it is "most likely the Tesla Model S Plaid" with some other additions pushing the price to $150k.

Tesla Model S Plaid Worth $130k  Upgraded to Hit $150K

The Tesla Model S Plaid already starts at a price of $130k and the video showed some features that, as per the user, made it worth $150k. The comments, however, disagree with some of the features that were enumerated by the owner of the original video.

The very first feature promoted in the video was the self-presenting handles which remain hidden until users need them. Although it does make a fun addition, the feature was a subject of controversy after a driver died in a car crash with the emergency correspondents unable to free him in time "due to the retracted door handles as per BloomBerg.

Other Tesla Features that were Subjects of Lawsuits

Another topic that was put to the test was the matter of paint quality, which was the subject of a class action lawsuit back in 2020 as per Electrek, where jf.okay tried testing out the paint with a rough brush showing how it came out unscathed. Comments, however, noted that no one is "supposed to get that rough with the paint on a Tesla."

Another feature touched is the entertainment feature like the "rear screen for kids" which supports Hulu, Netflix, and other popular platforms. As per SlashGear, however, this is hardly an innovation and is a feature that is already available on other cheaper alternatives.

Is the Car Really Worth It at $150K?

The $150 Tesla also has a frunk, or a front-trunk, which provides extra space on top of the trunk, but it wasn't that special for commenters. As per one commenter, getting a minivan with two screens and four times the storage can be bought at a third of the price.

Yet another feature discussed was the half-wheel steering yoke that somehow wasn't able to win over a number of viewers as it was seen with fuel benefits aside from its "futuristic design." With that, the article by SlashGear notes that although it does look quite "impressive" it is still hard to say if the car was really worth $150k.
