Panasonic announced earlier that it is aiming to start the production of the 4680 batteries for Tesla, to begin before the end of March 2024 for it to kick off. According to Reuters, the company will then start its production in its Wakayama plant in Japan, where it will have two production lines that will build the batteries.

The Tesla 4680 battery stands for 46 millimeters wide and 80 millimeters tall (hence the 4680), which is significantly taller than the previous batteries of the EVs. There were many ventures to the Tesla's new battery cells from the different partner companies for this matter. The company focuses on bringing new power cells to its clean energy vehicles that focus on getting a higher range and performance to carry its functions, since the electric vehicles highly rely on battery power for their mobility.

Reports pointed out that the Panasonic is starting the battery production for Tesla by 2021, and its last announcement was the Battery Day 2020 of the company. The Japanese multinational company fulfills Tesla's dreams for an adequate-sized battery that will fit on EVs well, something which the Model Y will carry someday.

However, there were reports that LG will produce the 4680 cells but will begin by 2023 for the US and European regions.

Tesla and Panasonic's partnership continues to produce the 4680 cells or the high capacity batteries, which Elon Musk highly praises for several of the Battery Days. The only dilemma now is the wait that will befall the company and its fans regarding the new cells that will start production by 2024, with its delivery coming later.
