Although Windows 11 is already out for the PC, it seems like the Steam Deck will not yet be supporting it. With that, Valve announced that users could choose Windows 10 as their preferred operating system.

Steam Deck Doesn't Support the Windows 11 Operating System

According to the story by PocketNow, the drivers will now be offering compatibility and hardware support for Valve's Steam Deck. To add, it's also important to note that Microsoft Windows 11 is not yet supported on the device.

Valve noted that for those that want Windows 11, support and drivers are now being worked at and will become available later on. With that, Windows 11 support would come with a BIOS update enabling TPM support needed to run Windows 11.

Windows 10 Installable on Steam Deck with Support for GPUs, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Audio Driver

Valve announced in a blog post that the Steam Deck could be installed with Windows 10. Although the device is already capable of working with two operating systems at the same time, this feature is not yet ready as of the moment.

Users will still have to switch between two different operating systems back and forth if they want to run two OS' at the same time. Valve also confirmed support for GPU, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Audio driver support.

Valve is Now Working with AMD to Provide Driver Support

As of the moment, Valve is already in the works with AMD as well as other parties to push driver support. In addition, the company said that its users will still be able to easily use either USB-C or Bluetooth with Windows on the Steam Deck.

Valve also announced other resources regarding how users can recover their Steam Deck should they encounter different issues. A post was published, including the different steps users will have to take for their corresponding issues.

Steam Deck Specs: Capable of Running AAA Titles at Medium Setting

As per the article by PocketNews, Steam Deck is a "portable handheld device" capable of allowing its users to play different full-fledged PC titles easily on the go. With that, the device comes equipped with 4-core, 8-thread CPUs with AMD APU while paired with eight different RDNA 2 compute units running for GPU with 16GB of RAM.

The publication described the upcoming Steam Deck as a "powerful device" capable of playing different AAA titles set to "medium." On top of that, Valve has also shared when they are going to start shipping out the devices' pre-orders.

As of the moment, a lot of early adopters have already gotten their own units. For those who can put in reservations during the first quarter of 2022, emails will be sent by the end of March regarding when they can receive their own Steam Deck device.
