According to an interview with Pfizer's executive, Albert Bourla, the company is pushing a new shot for the public against the COVID-19 virus. The focus is a fourth dose that will add another layer of protection that will address the many variants and effects of the coronavirus, especially now that the public is transitioning to drop the mask needs.

Complex reported that Pfizer intends to bring another dose of the virus, and it follows the booster shot that the company released in the past year. The new dose will be the booster of the booster, and it may be the one to seal the deal to protect against the virus.

The public is still vulnerable to infection from COVID-19, but the vaccines may help avoid its strenuous effect on the body.

Pfizer's 4th Dose: For Life After the Pandemic?

Pfizer's 4th dose is not yet here, but its topic comes when the world is transitioning to life after the pandemic. The new dose from Pfizer might be the answer to it, for thoroughly preparing a person for what happens next, significantly as the lifestyle of everyone has already changed with the pandemic experience for almost two years.

COVID-19 and the Vaccines Around It

COVID-19 is a virus that has put the world on its knees for the last two years and so, but it seems like the pandemic is nearing its end, especially with more people receiving immunity and fewer infections. However, some believe that the public needs more protection against it, with Pfizer leading the charge for a new dose.

A study done by the company talked about the 4th COVID-19 vaccine and its data, focusing on a follow-up for the booster vaccine, which is the third dose in its series. The pharmaceutical company said that the efficacy of the booster vaccine only lasts for four months after the shot, and it needs a new update that will help expand the protection.

Also, another reason for a new vaccine is to protect the immunocompromised people, especially as despite getting all the shots available to the public, they are still prone to get an infection.

Pfizer and BioNTech's vaccine is one of the most potent shots globally as it used the mRNA that produced a shot with high protection properties. The actions of Pfizer reflect its desire to end the pandemic now, and its activities focus on bringing protection for everyone and expanding the current needs of a person.
