"Lost Ark" might be one of the world's most popular MMORPGs right now, but it could lose players down the line if it doesn't implement sweeping, massive changes.

This was the sentiment of Twitch streaming star Asmongold, who posted a recent video directed to "Lost Ark" publisher Amazon Games. According to DotESports, the video was a response to a controversy regarding the recently launched Argos Abyssal raid.

Here is the video posted on Asmongold's official YouTube channel:

In the video, the massively popular Twitch streamer criticized Amazon Games' apparent desire to make the entirety of "Lost Ark" pay-to-win as proven by how the Argos Abyssal raid handles.

Many players have voiced their disappointment over the raid, specifically with its sky-high level requirement. To be able to access content within the raid, players have to be at level 1,370 minimum. However, leveling up to that point is said to be hard, since leveling up by upgrading items allegedly gets tougher starting at level 1,340.

This was noticed by Asmongold himself, who saw that successful upgrades to players' gear greatly diminish after the aforementioned level 1,340. He argues that this is right around the time when players would lose a "significant" amount of materials (via GameRant) when they try to upgrade their gear.

He then went on to say that paying with real world money will make the passage easier, as it allegedly unlocks more content. But if you try to do it on your own without paying, it will take you an "unreasonable amount of time" to reach the item level required for Argos Abyssal.

Asmongold's Increasing Criticism Of 'Lost Ark'

This isn't even the first time that the massively popular Twitch streamer (who has over 2.8 million followers on Twitch according to TwitchTracker) has criticized the Korean MMO despite being an avid player since launch.

Here is one video he made just days before his message to the game's devs, titled "The Decline Of Lost Ark." It's a lengthy video but one where he gives all of his unfiltered thoughts:

For now, though, the "Lost Ark's" player count is not something that either Amazon Games or the developers at Smilegate have to worry about. Earlier this month, the game surpassed 20 million players worldwide, making it one of the most popular games to ever release on Steam. But if they don't do something to keep that player base intact, they'll be in heaps upon heaps of trouble.

That's because the Argos Abyssal raid isn't even the only problem that the MMO is dealing with right now. For one, the Tytalos raid is still pretty much broken (though Smilegate did promise a fix). Another reason is the game's growing problem with bots, which has persisted despite the devs banning over a million suspicious accounts earlier in March.

Combine that with the game's seemingly "pay-for-convenience" scheme (via DotESports) and "Lost Ark" itself could become a powder keg waiting to explode.
