Facebook Primary Email

There are tons of reasons why a Facebook user would want to completely change their primary email address associated with their social media account.

Some might have a new email address, thus retiring the email tied to their Facebook accounts. While others might simply want to use their phone numbers instead.

Thankfully, Facebook allows such changes, letting its users let go of their old primary email address with a new one.

As per an article by LifeWire, Facebook users could replace the primary email address on their accounts on a desktop computer, including various operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows, Apple's Mac, and even Linux.

All the Facebook user needs is a web browser. It does not matter whether Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari-any widely used browser should do the job.

How to Change Facebook Email on Desktop

Without any further ado, here's how to change your primary email on Facebook via a desktop computer web browser.

  • Open your Facebook account on a browser.
  • Then, click the down-arrow menu on the top right corner.
  • After which, select "Settings & Privacy."
  • From there, click "Setting."
  • Then, go to the Contact section and click the "Edit" button.
  • In the same section, select "Add another email or mobile number."
  • Enter your new email or phone number.
  • Click the "Add" button to confirm.
  • Then, enter your password to confirm the change.

It is worth noting that Facebook will still have to verify the new email address or phone number even after you have re-entered your password.

The social media platform will be sending a confirmation email or text to your new address or number. You'll have to open it to finish the setup.

That's it, your new phone number or email address should then automatically become your primary contact on Facebook, according to Business Insider.
