Apple Maps 3D Buildings

As per a news story by Apple Insider, the Cupertino-based tech giant has begun adding new features to its Apple Maps app after debuting the iOS 15.

Some of the new features on the own Maps app of the iPhone maker included 3D landmarks, 3D view, and other pedestrian-friendly functionalities.

The news outlet further added that the enhancements to the local navigation features of Apple Maps have already reached numerous cities in the United States and the United Kingdom.

The new city experience has already reached locations like Washington D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Philadelphia, and London.

Apple Maps 3D in Canada

But this time around, Apple Maps now includes some Canadian cities, namely, Toronto, Vancouver, and Montréal, in its improved experience.

Apple added its 3D building feature to some of the landmarks in the Canadian nation, such as the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, the Hockey Fame Hall in Toronto, and the Biosphere in Montreal.

Not to mention that the Robson Square in Vancouver and the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montréal, among other prominent buildings, now also have its 3D rendition in Apple Maps.

That said, when Apple Maps users approach these landmarks in Canada, a 3D road-level view will showcase these iconic buildings, according to a recent report by MacRumors.

The services chief of Apple, Eddy Cue, said in his statement that they are "excited for Apple Maps users to explore the beauty and culture" of these Canadian cities "in an incredibly detailed new way."

The Apple exec also highlighted that the update brings a "beautifully designed experience," along with the "attention to details" of the Cupertino tech giant.

Apple Maps New Features in Canada

What's more, Apple also brings more immersive walking directions while exploring these cities in Canada, as well as improved maps for transit commuters.

That's not all, Apple Maps is also bringing a better driving experience for those using the navigation app while they are behind the wheel. It includes tweaks like clearer visuals of buses, taxis, turning lanes, and even crosswalks.
