DeLorean released a teaser for its first comeback after decades of stopping its production with the one and only vehicle it had, which gained cultural fame from its use in an 80s pop icon movie. While the old vehicle screams loud of the 1980s, the new concept EV resonates with that of the modern era as it is a clean energy vehicle that will be fully revealed by August 2022.

The DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) is not yet giving up on its vehicle production and fifty years later after its first release, it is teasing a new concept vehicle for a legitimate release. The press release of the company officially confirms that there is a concept vehicle that they have designed for a long time now, and it only awaited its preferred dates for its actual drop.

The first teaser of the company came in last April 1, and since most people believe that it was an April Fools Joke, nobody believed that it would later be an official release from the company. DMC mentioned that their announcement is an official teaser for April Fools, but who is to believe them?

The company took this opportunity to drop its hints without being too obvious.

DeLorean EV Concept to Fully Reveal by August

The most iconic thing here is that the company is swapping its rear engine V6 for an electric motor, and it will run on purely clean energy for when it releases to the world. DeLorean said that its new concept vehicle will be officially released by August, and it is in four months that the world will soon see what the company has to offer.

DeLorean's DMC-12 is an Icon

The DeLorean DMC-12 does not only bring you back to the future, but it also is a blast from the past as the iconic vehicle in the early 1980s is one rare production vehicle in its time. Moreover, this car is way ahead of its time with its concept that makes it look like a thing from the future, one of the few modern takes on sports cars.

The famous trilogy of "Back to the Future" that featured Robert Zemeckis as the director and writer, joining Robert Gale as producer, brought the world its early concept of time travel. It also brought the DeLorean DMC-12 as the featured car for its time-traveling concept that can launch itself to the time-space continuum and specific timeline as it reaches 88 miles per hour.

Since then, the DeLorean became a house brand for everything about the future, focusing on the DMC-12 as the vehicle that brings everyone to another point in time. The present now features the iconic vehicle for its rebirth and comeback, and more than fifty years later, the car is putting itself in the future's shoes by ditching its V6 engine for an electric motor.
