What's more badass than an aircraft carrier? An aircraft carrier that can fly!

That's the reasoning behind the Helicarriers, which appear in Marvel films like The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier as well as in various Marvel comics. With them, S.H.I.E.L.D. can respond to any threat in the world in record time.

Yes, we all know that a full-size Helicarrier is sadly impossible in the real world. There aren't turbines big enough to make a ship that size fly through the skies. As sad as that may be, that doesn't mean it can't happen on a smaller scale, as the folks over at Flite Test have recently shown in their latest video.

They've crafted a fully functional R/C Helicarrier, complete with Lego Marvel super heroes like Hulk and Captain America on the ship's deck. Flite Test even uses the deck of the Helicarrier as a runway for other R/C aircraft. While takeoff isn't too hard, trying to land the plane back onto the moving Helicarrier is far more difficult. Check out the video below.

If you're curious about how the craft was made, you can check out the build tips video below. The whole craft is made up of an aluminium bars, four rotors and lots of lightweight foam. It's an impressive feat of engineering to be sure. Now we just have to wait for some alien technology to make a full-size version of these massive aircrafts a reality.
