Tesla's In-Car WiFi Hotspot Feature

There have been a couple of rumors claiming that the giant EV maker of tech billionaire Elon Musk is working on an in-car WiFi hotspot feature.

However, earlier reports did not provide any proof that Tesla is, in fact, working on the rumored upcoming feature.

But this time around, a new Tesla leak showed that the automaker has already started testing its WiFi hotspot connectivity feature, as per a news story by Electrek.

The additional in-car connectivity option on Tesla is slated to provide a new alternative way to connect to the internet.

The news outlet went on to highlight that the most notable feature that Tesla is offering to its consumers is its excessive connectivity.

Most of its features primarily rely on the internet. On top of that, the EV maker also heavily depends on it as it collects data straight from its users to help the tech improve its features, specifically the FSD and Autopilot functionalities.

Electrek also added in its report that Tesla used to give away free internet connectivity.

However, as the EV tech giant massively scaled up, it had to charge its users a $10 per month fee to access its "premium connectivity package.

Apart from that, Tesla also recently rolled out a new way to connect to the internet in a new software update.

The update now allows Tesla owners to connect to the internet using the WiFi hotspots of their smartphones.
