Some developers tend to experience extreme burnout at their workplace.

Stressful workplaces are the breeding grounds for mental health issues. As such, some tech employees suffer from sudden fatigue after accomplishing their tasks.

Per Yarbo via ZDNet, two out of five professionals working in the tech industry are facing a huge risk of burnout. This is common when someone is working a very long hour paired with tons of workloads on their part.

This is not only physically tiring, but it also affects an individual's overall mental health. Desktop works suppress a person's usual habits and drain him/her easily.

Moreover, Stack Overflow conducted a survey consisting of more than 800 developers. The respondents are instructed to engage in physical activity. They also need to rest for a while after performing it.

Less than 35% of the respondents said that they consider exercise to be a routine that they used to do every day.

Speaking of taking a break, the usual notion that we can get from here is simply taking a rest like napping or sleeping. However, some developers have a different take on this.

ZDNet writes that 37% of the tech workers browse the internet in their free time. Meanwhile, the study suggests that 36% consider watching videos as a form of break. 27% are reportedly playing games to relax.

It should be noted that the survey is important in distinguishing the unhealthy habits that some developers do. In addition, it looks forward to mitigating the potential burnout that might happen to achieve a work-life balance for everyone.

How to Avoid Burnout

ZDNet reports that there are some ways that developers do to improve their well-being. According to the source, some choose to exercise while others prefer to work under time.

Many individuals also deal with this by talking to their family and friends while some people eat a healthy diet.

Of course, the workplace should not be all about the work alone. It should also give proper assistance to the employees by providing physical and mental health support.

However, the researchers highlighted that some employees might over-deliver because they felt pressured. Having said that, they might think that there are a lot of things to be finished for themselves.

"For example, are developers not reducing hours at work because they feel like they can't? Is wellness something employers can encourage more or is it more dependent on individual motivation? Are there factors that we overlooked entirely?" Stack Overflow wrote.
