An inexperienced passenger lands an airplane after the pilot lost his consciousness.

This is an unusual case since commercial plane pilots are expected to be in good health and well experienced when they are feeling something. 

Now, imagine if this scenario happens during your flight. Can you also do what the man did to save the entire plane? 

This incident happened on Tuesday, May 10. The passenger plane, Cessna 208, a single-engine airplane, took off from Marsh Harbour, Bahamas, and landed at the Palm Beach International Airport. 

But, the airplane went through a lot before it was able to make a successful landing. 

Inexperienced Passenger Lands Airplane! 

According to TMZ's latest report, an inexperienced passenger was forced to land the Cessna 208 after the pilot lost consciousness due to an unknown reason.

At first, the air traffic control received an alarming radio call. Instead of hearing from the pilot, the operators listened to the passenger's voice. 

"I've got a serious situation here. My pilot has gone incoherent. I have no idea how to fly the airplane," said the man. 

After that, the tower operator guided him on what to do since they had no choice. He asked him essential questions, such as their exact location. 

Aside from this, the operator gave the passenger instructions on what to do. Thankfully, the man was able to follow the guidance of the tower flight operator, allowing him to land the commercial aircraft. 

What's amazing about this scenario is that his landing performance was comparable to those of licensed pilots. As of writing, the Federal Aviation Administration is still investigating the incident. 

But, they decided not to disclose the name of the pilot and the passenger who landed the airplane.  

What To Do If Pilot Passes Out? 

Forbes reported that most airplanes have some experienced pilots that can take over the main pilots if ever they pass out. 

But, there are some instances when they are not really available, just like in the Cessna 208 incident. Now, if you are brave enough to do what the guy did, here are some tips you can follow: 

The first thing you need to do is get the communication headset for the pilot. 

After that, check if the autopilot is activated. If not, ask for instructors from the airline tower operator. 

Since other details are more complicated, the best thing you can do is listen to the instructions provided by the tower operator.
