Alan Wake fans are not getting their much-anticipated sequel yet, but they sure can look forward to a remastered version of the original game for the Nintendo Switch. 

Sam Lake, the creative director of Remedy Entertainment, revealed details about the franchise during the game's 12th-anniversary celebration video. You can watch the video here. 

The first part of the video shows Ilkka Villi, playing a game development build on the console. In a press release, Remedy Entertainment said, "The game will launch as a digital Nintendo Switch release only, and runs natively on the hardware." 

'Alan Wake Remastered' Release on Nintendo Switch

Fans can expect the remastered version in the fall on the Nintendo eShop. However, PS5, Xbox, and PC users can already play the remastered version of the game.

The original wake was released in 2010 and is centered around a thriller novelist who tries to solve the mystery of his wife's disappearance. Since then, it became a cult classic, that eventually led to the release of Alan Wake's American Nightmare in 2012. However, since then, the franchise has been dormant. 

This is also the reason fans are highly anticipating the release of a new game. Fortunately, there's something that can help them get by this year with the remastered version.

'Alan Wake 2'

In light of the announcement of the Alan Wake Remastered coming to switch, fans are also curious to know about Alan Wake 2. 

Alan Wake 2 is set to release in 2023. Developers have given updates on this and said that the development is going really well. 

In the video, Lake said, "To create a proper, polished demo or a trailer takes a lot of effort, and it's several months of work that could take away from development. We feel that we have momentum going, and we want to make sure we are creating the best, and first, survival horror game for Remedy." 

Lake added, "Everything is going really well. A great deal of the game is playable and we are iterating it. But we've been talking for the past couple of months and we've come to a decision that we will not be showing anything bg this summer.

The developer also shared new pieces of concept art for the game that you can view here. 

'Alan Wake' TV Series

There will also be a TV series for Alan Wake by AMC Networks. It was announced in 2018, and currently, the series has a long way to go before it becomes a reality. However, many are excited about the latest development in the TV series. 

Lake also mentioned that they're working hard with the TV network to make the show a reality. He also said that they will let know fans as soon as possible if there's something to announce. 

For now, Alan Wake fans can play the remastered version of the game, and next year, it's Alan Wake 2 time.
