Elon Musk is not a fan of the DMCA, and there have been several instances in which the CEO talked about copyright infringement and the many violations that come within the law. The tech CEO said it is a "plague on humanity" and that the DMCA is over the top for its policies, even to companies that it prosecutes or closely follows.

A report by Slashdot said that a United States Senator introduced a new law that will strip Disney of its special copyright protections, but it was not clear if it would be for all creators.

Here, the famous top billionaire said that the current copyright law goes "absurdly far beyond protecting" its creators, and it holds a high degree to keep their content only to them. The DMCA is famous for upholding a high degree of copyrighted works by artists posted online and available in many stores.

However, the tech mogul said that the DMCA is a "plague on humanity," and it is an "overzealous" entity that protects the content creators for their work. The opinions of the tech CEO do not have any context at all, as there are no reports regarding the DMCA's effect on him, yet he has strong sentiments against the body.

Elon Musk and the Copyright Law

Elon Musk is famous for having many memes and screenshots posted online, but there are not precisely copyright infringement lawsuits against him from the many posts he made in the past. Several SpaceX videos got flagged with copyright infringement on Twitter, with Musk saying that its space company's launch videos have no violations whatsoever.

DMCA and its Sanctions

The Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a law that the United States government developed to protect the many works of artists and content creators to keep their original creations protected. However, it presents a massive strike to those that violate it, and it would not matter if it is intentionally or unintentionally done.

Once, there was a petition to "Stop the DMCA" on Twitch's platform as many users and content creators got a strike on the copyright law, and fans got furious over it.

One of the most prominent DMCA cases is Twitch and the streaming platform's many copyright issues due to streamers using music from many of their favorite artists but are not licensed for the online media. Twitch created a workaround on this matter, and it is with the "Soundtrack" that holds a library full of licensed music for content creators to use.

Copyright law is a massive spectrum in the United States government, and it highly protects the original creator from having their work replicated or reproduced by other people without permission. However, some do not entirely agree with the law, especially someone like Elon Musk familiar with the industry.
