Foldables are not really that popular compared to the common models of the iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Oppo, and other well-known brands.

However, other gadget makers are trying their best to make folding smartphones a trend as well.

Even Samsung and some industry-leading tech firms are also releasing their own versions of foldable devices.

Now, it seems like LG will further enhance how next-gen foldable work.

Recently, this same tech was also unveiled by TCL. The company provided the first look at its 360-degree Ultra Flex concept.

However, the actual device did not really arrive. Because of this, enthusiasts expect LG to release the first foldable smartphone that can completely bend inward or outward.

As of writing, LG hasn't confirmed if it will use its advanced screen for its own foldable device or if other smartphone makers will use it to enhance their folding handsets.

How LG's 360-Degree Folding Screen Works

The new folding display can bend all the way since it uses a special folding structure, which minimizes the annoying creasing issue.

LG said that this new tech could actually survive around 200,000 folds. If this is true, then the 360-degree Foldable OLED matches the performance of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Aside from the new 360-degree folding screen, LG also unveiled its new OLED Gaming Display, another bendable screen that can curve up to 1,000R.

There is also a 17-inch Foldable OLED Laptop that can switch from a normal form into a portable tablet monitor.

LG Display is not the only company that announced an advanced foldable tech. Gizchina recently reported that the new Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is expected to be the lightest foldable on the market.

On the other hand, the LG solar panel production is expected to face temporary suspension as the company faces price issues against its Chinese rivals.
