With the world transitioning towards electric vehicles as certain governments like the United States and the United Kingdom make commitments towards reducing carbon emissions, more and more companies are investing heavily into electric vehicles (EVs).

Genesis is one of those companies, having just released its electric SUV called the GV60 and costs $58,890.

Genesis GV60 Electric SUV Priced at $58,890

According to the story by Electrek, the price and specs for Genesis' GV60 electric SUV have been shared with the public, along with its release timeline. As per the article, the electric SUV could come to the market in the summer of this year at the cost of $58,890.

With one single charge, the electric SUV can reportedly go a range of 248 miles. Genesis GV60 actually comes from Hyundai and remains an "important vehicle" in the company's luxury brand ever since its first EV was built using the E-GMP platform.

E-GMP Also Built Hyundai's Ioniq 5

The E-GMP platform was also used to build Hyundai's Ioniq 5. The publication notes that the GV60 can be considered the Ioniq 5's "more luxurious version."

Earlier unveilings that took place in 2021 showed that the Ioniq 5 and the Genesis GV60 share very similar specs, except for a 77.4kWh difference for the latter's battery pack option. There are two options that buyers get to choose from when it comes to the GV60, the Advanced and the Performance version.

Major Difference Between the GV60 Advanced and Performance Version

The difference between the advanced and the performance version is its front motor. While the Performance version has a rated 160 kW front motor, the Advanced version only holds a 74 kW front motor.

The 2023 Genesis GV60 AWD is expected to include certain "class-leading standard equipment and technologies" and costs $58,890. According to the company, safety should not be an option and that the Advanced package automatically includes certain features needed in order to improve the security of those inside the electric SUV.

Genesis Advanced Package to Include Face Connect and Other Features

These features include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) which, as per Synopsis, should help prevent injuries and deaths by reducing total car accidents and the potential of serious impacts. Two approaches ADAS focuses on are detection and avoidance in order to help minimize accidents and their severity should they happen.

The Genesis Advanced package is equipped with vehicle-to-load charging, Face Connect, a navigation system, and more. The company also said that free 30-min charging from Electrify America for three years will be given to Genesis GV60 owners.

Learn More About Face Connect

The GV60 electric SUV was said to include a new facial recognition system according to Genesis. Face Connect brings the ability for users to both lock and unlock their vehicles with facial recognition.

Other features connected to the Face Connect that will be available on the GV60 will be the Ultra Wideband (UWB) and Genesis Digital Key 2 applicability.
