There has been a declining demand for graphics cards recently. This event has been depressing so far for the scalpers who have been enduring a very low profit out of their sales.

Fortunately, this is a good time for people who want to buy a graphics card at this point. It seems that the extreme scalping is now waning, and you need to take advantage of this at the moment.

Declining Demand For GPUs

GPU Scalpers Are Gradually Shifting Away From Reselling Graphics Cards

The scalping of graphics cards in the market is slowly going down at the moment.

The demand for the PC graphics cards remains low at this point, and scalpers have a hard time selling their supplies to the prospective buyers.

During the pandemic, the demand for GPUs has skyrocketed because people tend to stay inside their homes. Tech gadget usage has grown drastically because of the high reliance on the devices.

In an interview with PCMag, one reseller said that everyone is basically done with GPUs. It should be noted that the prices of the graphics cards are slowly declining on several selling sites like eBay.

In 2021, we saw that the prices of some Nvidia flagship cards have been dropping steadily. One of the most important points is the close semblance of pricing for the GPUs on eBay and the local retailers.

This is a clear sign that scalpers now need to find another product to resell because they could only gain a small profit from it.

Another thing here is that some notable retailers, including Best Buy and Newegg are stepping up to urge more buyers to purchase their products rather than going to resellers.

These stores have been rolling out huge discounts for their computer accessories and other products.

GPU Scalping is Gone

Per GPU restocks tracker Falcodrin Stock Alerts, the era of graphics card scalping is now gone.

The source says that the demand for GPUs is low to the point that it has pushed the reseller prices to be cheaper than brand-new cards.

"You can still sell, but for much lower than current new prices. It's making it really difficult for (cryptocurrency) miners to liquidate their cards," Falcodrin continued.

In the next few weeks, the pricing for these products will go down further, per Corsair's prediction. It's because of the unfortunate events in the crypto world. This is good news for PC builders but not for crypto miners.

We could expect that the GPU prices will improve later this 2022 because of the upcoming arrival of the next-gen cards from AMD and Nvidia. However, it will still take some time before the scalpers recover from their huge loss.

In other news, Wccftech has revealed the specifications for the GeForce RTX 4080. The tech site said that this GPU is rumored to be launched in mid-July.
