If you do not want a particular group of people to contact you on Facebook, or if you do not like to receive random messages on Facebook Messenger, you can limit who can send you messages. Here's how.

Limit You Can Send You Messages

From the Facebook Privacy Checkup page on the website, you can select "Who can see what you share" so you can choose what the default setting is for the audience selector, according to Wired.

If you want your Facebook posts to be seen only by a certain group of people or by everyone on the platform except for a couple of contacts, you can configure it here.

There is also a section called "Limit Pas Posts" that if you select the Limit button below it, any older posts that were shared with an audience of friends or anyone on the platform will be locked down so only your current Facebook friends can see them.

Facebook Messenger

You can choose what happens with messages from people you do not know, according to NewsUpdate.

Anyone you are Facebook friends with can send you a direct message through Facebook Messenger, so if you do not want this to happen, you need to unfriend or block them.

Anyone else on Facebook can message you too, but these messages do not go directly to your inbox. Instead, they go to a message request folder.

On the desktop version or inside the mobile app, just click or tap your profile picture, then pick Message requests to see these messages. You can also reply to these messages to continue the conversation, or you can ignore or delete them.

From the mobile Messenger app, tap your profile picture, then go to Privacy and Message delivery to decide whether friends of friends and non-friends on Facebook can send you message requests at all.

Unfriending and Blocking Facebook Users

Blocking someone on Facebook takes only a couple of minutes.

Friends that you are connected to on the platform can contact you more easily than those who are not. To sever a connection with someone, go to their profile page on Facebook and click 'Friends' then select 'Unfriend.

For users who you do not want to hear from on Facebook, you can activate the block feature. Blocked users won't be able to see what you post on the platform, they won't be able to tag you on anything, they won't be able to send you a message, and they won't be able to add you to any events.

If you block someone, they won't be notified, but they will notice it when you are no longer friends on the platform or if they can no longer get in touch with you.

To block someone, go to the Facebook setting page and click "Blocking." Next, choose "Edit" right next to "Block Users."

Select Add to Blocked List, enter the name of the person you no longer want to hear from, and choose Block.

You can also unsend messages on Facebook Messenger if you've changed your mind.

You can also add Soundmojis on Facebook Messenger.
