Google Drive will now finally allow keyboard shortcuts to cut, copy, and paste files in Drive.
As long as you're using Google Chrome, you will be able to take advantage of this new ability. Users can now use the standard Control/Command + C, X, and V to copy and move files around. The feature will be available to everyone by June 4, 2022.

A Full & Functional Implementation
Google may be late in adding this feature, but the tech giant made sure that it will be fully functional.
The features will be added to the basic shortcuts, for sure. However, it will also work across different tabs. So, if you copy a file and try to paste it into an email or Google Doc, it will insert the file's title and a link to it.
Users can also paste shortcuts to files if they don't want duplicate versions all over their storage.
On a Roll
This is not the only feature that Google has released recently. It also released a new feature for Google Docs users that allow them to select multiple text fields at once and apply actions such as delete, copy, paste, or format to all sections.
The feature will already by available by default, which means users don't need to enable it. It will also be available for Workspace customers, legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers.
Similar to the copy/paste feature on Google Drive, this Google Docs feature is being rolled out gradually to all users. Therefore, some may need to wait as long as 15 days before they get this feature. The rollout already started on May 25, 2022.
To use the new feature, all you need to do is go to Google Docs, open a document, select multiple fields of text, and apply the formatting that you need. You can bold several fields of text together, even increase their font size or change the font.
Also earlier this year, warning banners can now be seen on Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. These banners will notify users on Google Drive about the presence of a potentially harmful file. This feature was released in January 2022, and now the company is extending the feature to other products, such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
With all of these new features, it only goes to show that Google continues its efforts to be user-focused for maximum efficiency and reliability in all of its programs.
