Here's what you need to know about the third master plan of Tesla.

For Musk, having a master plan is key for the company to achieve success. Without it, Tesla will have no guide regarding its workflow. Previously, the tech boss said that the Part One and Part Two master plans had been significant "pieces of literature" for the automaker.

Just last March, Musk highlighted that they were now developing the newest Master Plan for the company. The third part will be released after six years-- the time when the second part was launched.

According to Electrek, the electric vehicle manufacturer is now ready to unveil more details about the third master plan. Here's what Elon said during the companywide meeting last night.

"Master Plan Part 3 is all about achieving a very large scale. In order to shift the entire energy infrastructure and transport infrastructure of earth, there has to be a very high scale. We have to ask what is the actual tonnage? If we work backward from let's say about 300 TWh of installed capacity in vehicles and stationary (battery packs) then how do you achieve that tonnage from a mining and refining standpoint, but also do so in a sustainable way."

To sum it up, Musk aims to shift the entire energy infrastructure on the planet. Although it sounds ambitious at first glance, that's what he wants to happen for the Master Plan Part 3.

About this, Tesla has been revealed to have ties with mining and refining businesses. These transactions may be all part of the Tesla Master Plan Part 3 that Musk mentioned last time.

What About Tesla Master Plan Part 1 and 2?

For those who haven't yet heard about the previous Tesla master plans, Electrek reported that Musk aimed to achieve four steps in line with the company's core principle.

First, he wants to build a sports car. Musk does not only want to build an affordable car. He further wants to make more low-cost models which feature zero-emission and all-electric options.

Following this announcement, the SpaceX CEO unveiled the important points of the Tesla Master Plan Part 2. Here, Musk focused on bringing the full-self-driving options to the cars.

With that being said, here are the highlights of the second master plan.

  • Create stunning solar roofs with seamlessly integrated battery storage.
  • Expand the electric vehicle product line to address all major segments.
  • Develop a self-driving capability that is 10X safer than manual via massive fleet learning.
  • Enable your car to make money for you when you aren't using it.

Meanwhile, Reuters reports that Tesla was able to sell 32,165 electric vehicles in China. Out of these numbers, 22,340 are for export.
