The Giga Berlin in Germany is home to thousands of Model Y electric vehicles (EVs).

And Tesla continues to ramp up its productions, boasting a recent milestone for the automaker owned by no less than Elon Musk.

As per a news story by Inside EVs, the Giga Berlin facilities marked a monumental milestone for the Musk-led firm.

The Tesla Gigafactory in Germany reached a record-breaking production number of 1,000 Model Y EVs in merely a week.

The EV maker announced the latest milestone, and its CEO and founder, Musk, congratulated the folks behind the record-wrecking achievement.

The Tesla boss wrote: "Congratulations to the Giga Berlin team on making over 1,000 cars in a week."

Inside EVs notes that if the Tesla facilities in Germany keep up with this pacing, it should produce roughly 50,000 Model Y in a year.

However, this number is still far from the goal of the EV maker to achieve a production rate of over 500,000 cars every year.

Meanwhile, the Model Y Performance variant is facing a few hiccups in Giga Berlin, thus delaying its deliveries to its customers.

Tesla Model Y Giga Berlin Germany Delayed Deliveries

According to a recent report b Drive Tesla Canada, the renowned EV maker plans to delay the deliveries of the made-in-Germany Model Y Performance.

The news outlet notes that Tesla customers with Model Y Performance reservations see delays in delivery dates, while some experience a complete cancellation of shipping.

In fact, a couple of these Model Y reservation holders have already stormed an online forum to share their experiences.

Several Tesla customers say they should have gotten their hands on their Model Y Performance as early as this week or the following week. However, the EV maker went on to delay the shipping indefinitely, and in worse cases, it got canceled.

Tesla Model Y Performance Giga Berlin Issues

It appears that the reservation holders of the Tesla Model Y Performance are clueless why their orders got frustratingly pushed back.

So, what could be the reason behind all this Giga Berlin delay?

Drive Tesla Canada notes that Tesla employees learned that the Giga Berlin Model Y Performance has an issue with the voltage converter on its drive unit.

The problem requires a part replacement, which is reportedly still unavailable, forcing the automaker to delay its deliveries.
