Amazon has a new project, and it is a micro-mobility hub that aims to deliver to the United Kingdom electric cargo bikes to fulfill its carbon-neutral promise by 2030 for half of its fleet. It looks like Thailand's "Tuktuk," or the automatic rickshaw that transports people in the streets, a form of taxi in the country.

However, a delivery van for Amazon will bring clean energy for all, and their packages bought from the e-commerce company.

Amazon announced its new venture in the United Kingdom, with its latest project that focuses on reducing its carbon footprint by half come 2030 through its electric cargo bikes. It resembles the famous Tuktuk from Thailand that only has one wheel in front and two on the back for the cargo hauler to house its packages as it goes around for deliveries.

The micromobility hub is beginning to replace its original fleet of gas-powered delivery vans, and its venture in the UK is only the first there is, with the world awaiting its new vehicles from Amazon. It aims to bring the packages at the right time, same as the delivery vans, but it eliminates the need for using gas engines that bring pollution to the air.

Amazon's Carbon Neutral Goals and the Electric Bikes

According to The Verge, the e-cargo bikes will service London for now, but it will also focus on nearby areas to bring the packages to people's households. It aims to deliver the public with a clean energy vehicle that will have it for everyday use.

It is important to note that it would have limited operations for now, as its range is not as massive as electric cars with bigger batteries.

Clean Energy and Reduced Carbon Emissions

Zero waste is the way to go, and multiple projects aim to focus on clean energy and carbon emissions that will help limit and reduce the pollution present in the world today. A research from a team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) regarding wood planks that will focus on 3D printing instead of getting it from trees.

Several efforts focus on solar power as the alternative energy source now, and it is a global change to get into the venture to alleviate the need for fossil fuels. Researchers also came up with a way to capture light from any angle, which would help boost solar panels' energy gathering from the natural resource of the Sun.

However, massive brands like Amazon, GM, Tesla, Volkswagen, and other corporations are also pledging to fewer carbon emissions and footprints that they leave the world, and it is through their projects. It may be a small step for Amazon to provide electric cargo bikes for its deliveries, but it creates ripples for the future in the switch to clean energy.
